The Laurel Elevation of
HRM MORGAN:
Is there a member of the populace that will speak for this woman?

MASTER SIM MacFHEARCHAIR:
Aye, Your Majesties, though, given this august company, the populace has seen fit to send two representatives. Might I present Lord Fergus de Botha and Lord Iamys MacMurray de Morayshire.
Lord Fergus de Botha (top photo in blue), who brought Cecile into the SCA at the UofA, speaks to his friend. Lord Iamys MacMurray de Morayshire (bottom photo at left) has known Cecile since she met Vallawulf, who is one of his best friends.

HE BANNTHEGN EDINE FAIRFIELD SENDS THESE WORDS:
Talent, skill and devotion to one’s art, these are qualities much sought by all who would be Laurels.

As those assembled here show by deed and action, there are many other qualities needed to obtain the station of Laurel.

Kindness, grace, humility, a willingness, as well as an aptitude, to teach and to learn.

Cecile has embodied these characteristics with apparent ease (though, at times, the challenges placed before her were great).

Her nature is gentle yet tenacious.

Her passion for her art is evident in her very countenance.

During the time that she and I worked together, and since, I have seen another characteristic grow within her: self-confidence.

This lady has truly grown into someone who will do justice to your Order and someone you can be very proud to call "Peer."

She is now, and will always be, someone who we all aspire to emulate.

I have always been proud to call her my friend, and now I will be very proud to call her a Mistress of the Laurel.

Having indicated that you are willing
