| About the same time, my laurel and I both thought it would be a great idea to make baronial cloaks for the investiture of Rhys and Edine. So, he made the cloaks with the scrolling appique, and I worked on the heraldic device to be appliqued in the center back. The final appliques (one for the baron and one for the baroness) were about 12" in diameter, and I completely lost track of how many beads. Both were bead embroidered with glass seed beads. Beading both of them took me two months of pretty regular work. They are also already well traveled, as they went with me on numerous business trips. They were completed in October 2004. |
