| Polish Zupan | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| One of my latest projects was to create a late 16th C. Polish zupan for Count Eduard Gostomski's stepping down. I based my zupan pattern after a zupan created by Master Jose. The zupan is made in a black/gold brocade that coordinates with the German gown created for Duchess Asa. The zupan is lined in yellow cotton broadcloth and faced with antique gold silk. There are 14 buttons made from wooden beads and fine gold braid. There are 7 applique beaded crosses on the hem of the coar. I drafted the body and the sleeves using Master Jose's "System of Thirds" Method. Here are some resources for Polish Costuming: Boleslav Orlicki's Horse Artillery Polish Costuming Resource Fire and Sword - Polish epic movie with great military costume. |
